Summer
vacations are coming and suddenly we have a lot of free time to enjoy freedom and good weather, but we run the risk of being lazy and anchoring ourselves to the couch and the fan to do nothing practical. The problem is that this way we won't enjoy summer too much, so it's better if we get active and look for things that entertain us, refresh us, and provide us with something valuable. If we still don't have a great plan in sight, here are a few fun summer plans that allow us to make the most of our time:
Canyoning, climbing, countryside routes...
If we love nature, study Geography, Biology or Physical Education, or simply feel like doing a different activity, we just have to gather a few friends and leave behind the soporific heat of the cities in summer. There are wonderful places to visit everywhere, we just have to ask Mr. Google for the one that interests us the most. Contact with nature makes us feel good, takes us away from the stress we have accumulated during the course, and allows us to disconnect and breathe fresh air. In addition, adventure sports will allow us to have new experiences and strengthen our body.
Diving, kayaking, surfing...
If we are more of those who spend the summer months soaking, and the sea is always part of our summer plans, it is a good time to get in shape while having fun. Farmschools and camps
Those studying Early Childhood Education or Teaching will enjoy working as monitors at a camp where they can put into practice all the knowledge acquired during the course and gain experience for the future. If we are creative, active, like children and group activities, we may have a great summer here and even earn some extra money.
Volunteering
Volunteering is wonderful in every way: we work for the common good, meet people of all kinds, do useful practices, it is beneficial for our resume, we learn new and valuable things... If we want to do something good and different this summer, we don't have to think twice: the most rewarding thing for us will be to become volunteers. In addition, there is surely an NGO or non-profit organization that deals with topics related to our field of study. Being a volunteer is not just about working in a soup kitchen or picking up trash, there are dozens of different areas where we can find our place: social, sports, environmental, cultural, socio-sanitary volunteering... Trips abroad
We have a summer ahead of us to fill it with things, and trips cannot be missing from our agenda due to lack of resources or laziness. Getting to know new places and, above all, new languages, will be essential for our academic and personal training. Those who have chosen Translation and Interpretation, International Relations, English Studies, Tourism, or similar for their studies cannot let the summer go by without doing a bit of linguistic and cultural immersion. If there are not enough financial means, we can always look for au pair work, try to get paid internships, or look for a junk contract in a fast food restaurant. Where there's a will, there's a way! Having fun and learning at the same time is possible in summer. During the school year, the curriculum sets the pace, but now we choose it ourselves.
